AICC to finalise campaign strategy of Pratibha Patil tomorrow

New Delhi, June 20 (UNI) Putting in top gear the campaign for the UPA Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil for the July 19 elections, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has convened a meeting of the AICC Office-bearers and Congress Chief Ministers here tomorrow to discuss its strategy.

Party sources said Ms Patil will be formally introduced at the meeting to be held at the official residence of Ms Gandhi at 10 Janpath.

The meeting is essentially to work out a strategy for the success of Ms Patil, who will become the first woman President if she wins.

It would assess the ground situation in every state and draw up an action plan for each one of them.

The Chief Ministers of all the 13 Congress ruled states are expected to attend the meeting.

President is chosen by the elected members of Parliament and state assemblies.
