Advance bail denied to JE in corruption case

Patna, Jun 20 (UNI) Special vigilance judge of Patna SPN Singh today turned down the anticipatory bail plea of Surendra Prasad, a Junior Engineer of water resource department, here in a corruption case.

The case was related to irregularities in the allocation of fund to the office of executive engineer in Garhi irrigation division of Jamui district and misappropriation of government funds during 1994-95.

Altogether 16 accused named in the case included the then executive engineer Babban Ram, four assistant engineers, nine junior engineers and two account clerks.
