5 nominated BMC members to be announced tomorrow

Mumbai, June 20 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will declare the names of five nominated councillors who have been recommended by the political parties here tomorrow.

These councillors are selected by the various parties in the House. At least 40 votes of the councillors are required for a candidate to be nominated.

Based on its strength of 79 councillors in the House, the Congress party coalition who are in the opposition can get two members nominated to the House.

According to sources in the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee, Sunil Gangwani and Shivji Singh are the candidates who will be nominated to the House.

The Shiv Sena and the BJP have in all 104 councillors in the House and, according to the agreement between the Sena and BJP, the former will get two and the latter will get one nomination. The nominations of Sena and BJP have not yet been disclosed and is expected to be decided tomorrow morning.
