2688 MT Wheat to Moga and Ferozpur under SGRY

Chandigarh, June 20 (UNI) The Punjab government has approved to release 2688 MT of wheat under the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) scheme in two districts of Ferozpur and Moga.

A spokesman of the state government said that Ferozpur and Moga districts have been allotted 836 MT and 1852 MT food grains respectively.

Under SGRY scheme, 5 Kg foodgrain was being distributed, as a part of wage per man-day and the remaining being paid in cash to ensure "notified minimum wage" every week in poverty-struck rural areas.

The scheme was being implemented on cost sharing basis between the Centre and the state in the ratio of 75:25 of the cash component, he said.
