Vikram Singh first special DGP of UP

Lucknow, June 19 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government, after creating the new post of a cabinet secretary, has now created another post Special Director General of Police (Law and Order Crime Control) and has appointed Vikram Singh to the post.

According to official sources, Mr Singh ,who was on waiting after his return from central deputation will be appointed as special DGP (Law and Order Crime) with having total juridication over law and order and crime control in the state.

The 1974 batch official was promoted to the DG rank last week. He was ADG (Law and Order) during the previous Mayawati regime in 2002.

It is the second special post to be created by the Mayawati government after it appointed Shashank Shekhar Singh as the first cabinet secretary of the state.
