Panaji, June 19 (UNI) Congress president Sonia Gandhi's directive to Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat to provide a corruption-free administration has to be taken in the right earnest, said Utt-Goenkara spokesman Mr Aires Rodrigues.

Speaking to media persons here today, he said that as a step in this direction MLAs with cases of serious criminal offences pending against them should not be inducted in the Cabinet until cleared of the charges by the courts.

He also demanded an immediate probe into the appointment letters issued last week by the Public Works Department to 103 new lower division clerks.

Mr Rodrigues also demanded that Goa's new regional plan be prepared in consultation with all concerned and stated that the Goa Regional Plan 2011 was ''not just a mistake but a planned fraud'' on the people of Goa by some politicians to fill their pockets by selling Goa.

Only a judicial probe can reveal the extent of the financial benefits that were sought to be amassed through the ''anti- Goa, anti-people and anti-environment regional plan by some ministers and MLAs in the last legislative assembly'', he aded.

He also stressed the need for appointing only technical experts on the Town and Country Planning Board and other planning authorities to ensure Goa's planned development.

Mr Rodrigues also demanded that to protect the interests of State's educated unemployed youth, the retirement age of Government employees should be fixed at 58.

A delegation of ''Utt Goenkara'' would meet the Chief Minister next week to deliberate on Goa's pressing problems, Mr Rodrigues added.
