UHBVN to ensure connections to all water works

Chandigarh, June 19 (UNI) The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has decided to release all pending connections to public water works before July 31 to ensure adequate water supply in rural and urban areas.

A UHBVN spokesman said the Nigam would also erect new 11 KV level feeders to ensure independent power supply to the Government Hospitals, Community Health Centres and Primary Health Centres on priority basis for the convenience of indoor and outdoor patients.

However, the expenditure to erect new feeders would be borne by the applicant.

He said the Nigam had made a comprehensive plan to implement metering on distribution transformers for proper energy audit. It had been planned to instal 86757 distribution transformer meters at a cost of Rs205 crore. The scheme had been sent to the Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) for approval.
