Transporter tries to crush Hamirpur RTO under his bus
Hamirpur, June 19 (UNI) A transporter allegedly attempted to run over Hamirpur Regional Transport Officer (RTO), near here, after he was asked to produce vehicle documents last evening, police sources today said.
RTO Ramesh Chand Thakur had a providential escape when transporter, Naresh Kumar started the bus and attempted to hit the RTO and his vehicle at Hamirpur's National Institute of Information and Technology (NIIT) when he was asked to stop the bus for checking of documents.
Kumar later sped towards Naduan on the National Highway followed by the officer in his vehicle.
The transporter again stopped the vehicle after six to seven km and made a second attempt to crush the officer who had a providential again, they said.
The sources said Kumar escaped from the scene after the incident, adding that efforts were on to arrest him.
