Thieves steal money from Gurdwara cash-box

Ambala, June 19 (UNI) Thieves struck the Gurdwara of Teja Mohri village of the district here last night and took away thousands of rupees, police said today.

The thieves broke open the cash box of the gurdwara, full of the cash donated by devotees for the shrine, and decamped with the money, police said.

The exact amount of the theft could not be immediately Ascertained. The theft came to light when the priests came to the Gurdwara early morning.

The police rushed to the spot on getting the information and began investigations.

However, no one had been arrested so far.

Local leaders have strongly condemned the incident.
