Temperatures rise marginally in HP

Shimla, June 19 (UNI) Maximum and minimum temperatures rose marginally during the last 24 hrs in Himachal Pradesh even as a strong cool breeze blew across the state capital throughout the day.

The maximum temperature at Shimla rose by a few notches to 23.8 degrees as compared to 23.6 degrees recorded yesterday, while it rose to 32.7 and 23.3 degrees at Bhuntar and Kalpa respectively.

The met office said day temperature at Sundernagar and Dharamshala fell to 29.9 and 25.8 degrees in comparison to yesterday's high of 31.1 and 27.8 degree Celsius respectively.

The minimum at the state capital also rose to 16 degrees as against yesterday's low of 14.9, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded lows of 19.3 and 15.6 degree Celsius in comparison to yesterday's night temperatures of 18.5 and 15.2 degrees respectively.

It said the night temperature at Kalpa remained stationary at seven degrees, while Una, Nahan, Solan and Palampur recorded minimum temperatures of 22.2, 22.4, 17.2 and 16 degrees respectively.

A strong cool breeze was blowing across Shimla and despite an increase in the temperatures locals and tourists were feeling the chill in the morning and evening air.

The met office has predicted isolated rains and thundershowers at isolated places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
