Rs 15 lakh fake currency seized
Kozhikode, Jun 19 (UNI) Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) sleuths today seized fake Indian currency worth Rs 15 lakh from a passenger from Dubai at Karippur International Airport.
DRI sources, refusing to reveal the name of the person, who came in an 'Indian' flight, said the currency in Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations, was concealed in cartoons and tins.
The accused and another person, who came to receive him, were taken into custody for questioning, the sources added.
Earlier, fake currency worth Rs 20 lakh was seized from a passenger from Dubai on April 29, 2007.
