PTPM to support AIADMK in Madurai West bypoll

Chennai, Jun 19: The Pasumpon Thevar Peoples Movement (PTPM) has decided to extend support to the AIADMK in the June 26 byelection to the Madurai West constituency.

In a statement here today, PTPM founder-President N Vellaisamy Thevar said under the present political scenario they have no alternative other than supporting the AIADMK.

He vehemently criticised the DMK Government for not sanctioning the amount of Rs five crore so far as promised to erect a memorial of late Muthuramalinga at Pasumpon to commemorate the centenary celeberation of Thevars.

He urged the state government to immediately take up the work for constructing the memorial.
