Police, naxals exchange fire in AP

Mahaboob Nagar, Andhra Pradesh, Jun 19 (UNI) Police and naxals belonging to CPI(Maoist) party today exchanged fire in the forest area near Malagara village of Uppanutala mandal in this district.

Police said the naxals opened fire when a special police team was conducting combing operations in the forest. When the police retaliated the naxals fled from the scene.

However, no one was injured in the fire, police added.
