Chatra, June 19 (UNI) CPI(Maoist) ultras have killed one youth, who is believed to have earlier been associated with the banned outfit.

Police here today said Ajay Rana, a resident of Pahra village was last night returning from Giddor when he was killed.

Police attributed it to inter-gang rivalry as Ajay after parting with CPI(Maoist) was getting involved with Jharkhand Prastuti Committee (JPC).

On June 17 night, armed CPI(Maoist) ultras torched the houses of the self-styled area commander of Jharkhand Prastuti Committee (JPC) and other sympathisers of the outfit at Sikri village under Simria police station in the district.

The CPI(Maoist) activists swooped down on the Sikri village and searched the houses of the JPC members, including self-styled area commander Dhanwara Mahto.

They dragged the members out of the houses before setting those afire.
