One dead, another injured in a fire in East Delhi

New Delhi, Jun 19 (UNI) One person died while another sustained serious burn injuries in a fire in a house in East Delhi tonight.

Thirty-five year-old Khanker died in the fire that broke out in their house at New Seema Puri in East Delhi at 2156 hrs, fire brigade officials said.

Khanker's wife sustained 70 per cent burn injuries in the fire and was admitted to GTB hospital in a critical condition, the officials said.

Two fire engines were pressed into service to put out the blaze which was soon extinguished, the officials said. The other members of the family are safe, they said.
