No respite for Kolkata as suffocating heat persists
Kolkata, Jun 19 (UNI) A generally hot and humid day kept city dwellers craving for respite today which they, however, found in an occasional breeze.
Maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 35.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal, and the minimum was recorded at 28. 6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal, Met officals said.
With the maximum relative humidity being recorded at 91 per cent and minimum at 59 per cent, no rainfall was however recorded in the city.
Met office predicted a partly cloudy sky with possibility of light to heavy rain or even thunder showers later in the night.
