No move for early polls in MP, Chhattisgarh, says Rajnath

Raipur, Jun 19 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh today said there was no move to opt early assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

''Our government in both the states will complete its full term'', he said while talking to newspersons at the state BJP office here, where he is attending the core group meeting of party's Chhattisgarh unit.

Mr Singh was replying to a question about the possibility of BJP governments in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh opting for early elections, along with Gujarat by the year-end. ''Any such reports in this regard have no substance'', he added.

Asked about the growing dissidence within the party in Gujarat where the legislators were going public against Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP president warned that stern action would be taken against those legislators, who violate the party discipline.

He strongly defended the Gujarat Chief Minister saying that Mr Modi has been successful in speeding up the pace of development and making Gujarat a model state.
