Nandi Hills, Brindavan Gardens handed over to Tourism Dept

Bangalore, June 19 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today said Nandi Hills and Brindavan Gardens have been handed over to State Tourism Department for proper maintenance and to attract more tourists.

Talking to newspersons here, he said hitherto Nandi Hills, on the outskirts of Bangalore and Brindavan Gardens near Mysore, were maintained by Horticulture and Irrigation departments, respectively and they have been handed over to the Tourism Department to convert them into full-fledged tourist spots.

Linganamakki dam would also be developed on the model of Brindavan Gardens, he said.

Stating that the government would give priority to SC and ST youths while providing jobs in Tourism Department, Mr Yediyurappa said the Government would set up a College for imparting training in Tourism and Hotel Management.

BJP leader Yeshwant Sinha, incharge of party affairs in Karnataka, would arrive in the city tomorrow on a two-day visit and hold meetings with party office bearers, Ministers and Legislators on various developments, he said.
