Mizoram govt in for more pressure
Aizawl, Jun 19 (UNI) After the group A officers, engineers and doctors, a joint force of group B, D and C employees are now demanding the revision of their pay structure.
They have set the deadline for meeting their demands as June 21.
The 50,000-odd employees have vowed that they would stand against the June 6 Cabinet decision to revise their pay structure within the Mizoram Pay Commission 2005 and demanded they enjoy the Central pay structure.
The Group B, D and C employees accused the Mizoram government of showing favouritism to the group A officers, engineers and doctors and strongly demanded equal treatment.
The government employees demanded, among others, promotion be given to the officers with 5, 7 and 12 years of service as is being given to the engineers and doctors.
The employees had planned to get together yesterday but had called off after request from the Cabinet emergent meeting on Sunday. The leaders instead met the top government officials late last afternoon, following which they decided to call a meeting on June 21 for all the service associations under the state government.
Meanwhile, Personal and Administrative Reforms minister Tawnluia has assured the employees that utmost importance would be given to their grievances.
