Militant-lurned cheat arrested for deceiving a woman

Jammu, Jun 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police today arrested a surrendered militant-turned cheat for allegedly deceiving a woman, on the pretext of providing job to her son, at Kishtwar town, a senior official said.

''A local surrendered militant Zulfkar Ali, son of Ata Mohammad, was arrested for cheating a woman, namely Lal Devi, and taking Rs 10,000,'' SSP Doda Manohar Singh told UNI.

During questioning it was revealed that Zulfkar Ali, who had surrendered in 1996, was involved in several such crimes since he laid down weapons, he said.

He used to impersonate as a press reporter and trap people, the SSP informed.
