Metal prices fall on lack of demand

Mumbai, June 19 (UNI) Metal prices fell on lack of industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the ferrous section, copper utensils and aluminium utensils drifted lower by Rs 100 per quintal each due to sustained heavy selling pressure.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and lead ingot were down by Rs 200 per quintal each owing to improved offers by stockists. Aluminium ingot and zinc slab also eased by Rs 100 per quintal each because of thin buying support.

Nickel cathode was also down by Rs 10 per kg on absence of demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,000, Copper utensils - Rs 31,400 Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,100 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,400 Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,600 Zinc slabs - Rs 19,000, Lead ingots - Rs 9,800 Tin slab - Rs 710 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,900 (per kg).
