Mecca blast :Court permits Sameer to speak to his parents
Hyderabad, June 19 (UNI) A local court today granted permission to alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operative Sameer alias Shaik Nayeem, arrested for alleged involvement in the fake passport and Mecca Masjid blast cases, to speak to his parents on telephone.
Sameer was produced before the 12th Additional Metropolitan Magistrate by the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) police which was investigating the blast case.
Meanwhile, the SIC police lodged a petition with the court seeking permission to conduct narco analysis test on Sameer.
Sameer had escaped from a police station here on June 17 and was caught by the city police. He was a resident of Jalna in Maharashtra and was caught by the West Bengal Police while trying to cross the border along with two Kashmiris and a Pakistani.
He is also one of the accused in Samjhauta Express blast case.
The SIC brought him here to interrogate him in connection with his involvement in the Mecca Masjid blast.
He was lodged at Mahankali police station after a city court remanded him in police custody for five days recently.
