IT officials raid houses of stock exchange brokers

Chennai, June 19: Income-Tax authorities today conducted raids at the houses of a few stock exchange brokers in various places of the city and seized huge amount of unaccounted money and investment documents.

Official sources said the IT team, which came from Ahmedabad and other places, were conducting the raids without the knowledge of local IT officials.

Mediapersons, who contacted the local Income Tax authorities seeking more details on raids, said they were unaware of the raids by their counterparts.
