Indian Youth Congress celebrates Rahul's birthday

New Delhi, Jun 19 (UNI) Congress leader and Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi today turned 37.

To mark the occasion the Indian Youth Congress in Delhi distributed books to students at its Raisina Road office here.

The children also cut a cake praying for the young leader's long life.

Congress Working Committee member Oscar Fernandes, who was present on the occasion, said the step to take education to every nook and corner of the country by the IYC was commendable and in line with Rahul Gandhi's aim to spread education among all sections of society.

On the other hand, Congress MLA Jaikishan as a gesture of his respect for the young leader distributed cricket kits among slum dwellers in Sultanpuri, Jwalapuri and Mongolpuri areas.

This, he said, would keep them away from evils like gambling, drugs and petty crime.
