I am happy with Welfare portfolio: Kandasamy

Puducherry, June 19 (UNI) Newly inducted minister in the Rangasamy Cabinet M Kandasamy today said he was happy with the Welfare portfolio allocated to him.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Kandasamy said he would work to the satisfaction of all sections of the people and would ensure that the welfare schemes reached the people on time.

He said a meeting of his department officials had been convened tomorrow to review allocation of funds, filling of vacant posts and distribution of old age pension.

The funds allocated under the special component project was meant only for the welfare of Adi-Dravidar people and it would not be diverted to other departments, he said adding a meeting had been called on June 27 to discuss the issue.

Mr Kandasamy said he had directed that quality food be provided at the Adi-Dravidar hostels here.
