Heavy showers gives respite from scorching heat in Rajkot

Rajkot, Jun 19 (UNI) The much awaited rains poured down in the city, giving respite from the scorching heat to people here.

The people came out from their houses and enjoyed the heavy showers last night. The people were seen in queues at the famous ''bhajia shops'' of the city to get spicy food in wet condition.

However, many areas of the city plunged into darkness following power disrupted, last night.

According to weather office, Rajkot city recorded 27.8 mm of rainfall till 0800 hrs today.

Reports of rain is also received from some parts of Morbi, Jasdan and Kotadasanghani of the district.

Veraval, Una and Batwa of the Junagadh district also experienced light to heavy showers, reports reaching here said.
