Heavy rains likely in Goa, Kerala, Lakshadweep

Pune, June 19 (UNI) The Southwest Monsoon has been active in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep and at many places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan.

In the regions where the Southwest Monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were above to appreciably above normal in Saurashtra and Kutch.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal Harayana, Punjab, some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, and north Rajasthan. They were below normal in some parts of Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Maharashtra and in remaining parts of Rajasthan.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at a few places in Bihar.

Rain or thundershowers have also occurred at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Saurashtra, Kutch, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manaipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Orissa, Uttaranchal, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalseema and Tamil Nadu.
