Mumbai, June 19 (UNI) A city court today directed the prosecution to submit all documents of the lower court pertaining to the bail granted to Haseena Parkar in an alleged extortion and cheating case, and adjourned the matter till June 27.

Haseena, sister of mafia fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim, was released on bail of Rs 25,000 on May 24 this year by the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate V K Sharma.

The court of civil and session Judge Ashok Bhangale adjourned till June 27 the hearing on the application filed by the Anti Extortion Cell (AEC), seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Haseena Parkar. City Civil and Session Court Principal Judge Ashok Bhangale directed the prosecution to produce all documents submitted in Metropolitan Court at the time of hearing on her bail application.

However, those documents are believed to be in the custody of Bombay High Court.

Meanwhile, Additional Public Prosecutor Geeta Vaiude today argued before the court on the legality of bail to Haseena Parkar.

Her argument remained inconclusive.

The prosecution case is that Haseena Parkar had threatened Vinod Avalani, an estate agent, and refused to return his Rs 30 lakh which was paid to two builders for a slum redevelopment project deal at Wadala in south-central Mumbai, which, however, failed to take off.

Earlier, Additional Public Prosecutor Dilip Shah, who had claimed he had received calls threatening him of dire consequences if he continued to represent the matter, stepped down from case on instructions from Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian.
