Govt, ICICI-Lombard reach an agreement to solve problems

Aizawl, Jun 19(UNI) The Mizoram government and representatives of ICICI-Lombard have reached an an agreement to solve the existing problems between the private hospitals and the insurance company.

As per the agreement made yesterday, all pending claims/bills before March 23, excluding those with inadmissible items, would be cleared within two weeks, and patients having uncleared bills are thereby informed to report the same to the ICICI-Lombard General Insurance Company at Chanmari.

It has also been agreed that all current bills (of private reimbursement and local accredited hospitals) would be cleared within one week.

It is also agreed that other banks, in addition to IDBI Bank, would also be made available for bill payment, and the bill payment would now be made through demand draft to avoid pending encashment.

And open cheque/draft would be issued, not account payee, in case of small amount.

It is also agreed that steps would be taken to include chronic diseases such as heart troubles, diabetes and others in the scheme.
