Fake cheques scam busted, 3 in police remand
Basti, June 19 (UNI) A local court today ordered remand of three people, involved in Rs 5.13 crore Food and Supply department scam, to seven days police custody.
Rakesh Kumar alias Laddu was said to be the mastermind of the scam. He used to bungle money by using fake cheques for payments, after scanning the original ones.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate V D Bharti today pronounced this judgement of sending Rakesh Kumar, Ramchat Tiwari and Rajendra Prasad Singh in police remand from June 20 to 26.
Police arrested them from Badshah Nagar railway station in lucknow on June 17 and also recovered Rs 46,000 from them.
The accused had confessed to their involvement in the crime. More information about the scam could be gathered after the interrogation, Senior Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar said.
So far, nine people had been nabbed in this regard.
