CPMT 2007 results cancelled; fresh results within a week
Lucknow, June 19 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today cancelled the Combined Pre Medical Test (CPMT) 2007 results declared on June 14 and decided to announce fresh results within a week after technical faults were detected during preliminary investigation.
A seven-member team constituted to probe into alleged irregularities in the declared results found that approximately 75 per cent of them were faulty.
The team will hand over its report to the state government tomorrow.
The team constituted by the state government on Friday to detect the irregularities reflected in the CPMT results announced on Thursday, returned to the state capital today.
State Principal Secretary (Medical Education) Arun Kumar Mishra said fresh CPMT results would be announced within a week, while the report of the investigating committee will be submitted to Chief Minister Mayawati tomorrow.
''We have decided to announce fresh results after technical flaw was detected in prima facie investigation,'' Mr Mishra said.
However, the secretary hinted that as per the preliminary report, about 75 per cent of the results could be changed in the fresh CPMT results.
He further said once the detailed report is submitted, the government will decide action to be taken against those responsible for the irregularities.
''Our main concern is to announce the results at the earliest so that students do not suffer,'' the official added.
