Addressing the activists, CPI(M) State Council member Ch Babu Rao demanded that the government should allot the 29,000 houses, constructed under the JNNURM scheme in the city, to the poor.

The CPI(M) would continue with the 'Bhooporatam' agitation till the government distribute lands to the poor.
A report from Machilipatnam said 25 CPI(M) activists were arrested after they occupied 12 acres of land at Veerulapadu as part of their agitational programme.
