CPI (M) to continue campaign against anti-people policies in Tripura

Agartala, June 19 (UNI) The CPI(M) in Tripura will continue the campaign on nine-point popular issues including inflation, price-hike, crisis faced by peasants and against the anti-people policies pursued by the Congress-led UPA government at the centre.

Talking to mediaperson here today CPI(M) spokesperson and the state committee member of the party Goutam das said the state committee meeting was held on June 17 last which observed that keeping a lull for sometime, extremist outfits, are being patronised by the anti-Left Front political forces with an eye on the next assembly elections in the state.

In comparison to the attacks of the secessionist extremists, security forces have many more achievements in their combat operations during last two months and about 73 militants surrendered from the major outfits with sophisticated arms, explosives and ammunitions, Mr Das said adding that two security men were killed and seven civilians wounded in four militant attacks.

Mr Das, however, stated that Tripura Left front would observe the 30 years of left regime in West Bengal on July 8 next where West Bengal Chief Minister Budhadeb Bhattacharjee and other senior leaders of left front will participate in the programme.
