Raipur, Jun 19 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi has been exempted from personal appearance by a court in connection with a complaint case related to the murder of Nationalist Congress Party leader.

Additional Sessions Judge B L Tidke also fixed September 19 for recording of evidence on the 'complaint case' filed by Mr Satish Jaggi, son of state NCP Treasurer Ram Avatar Jaggi who was shot dead here on June 4, 2003.

Mr Jogi, who was named as an accused in the complaint, was granted bail by the court on March 20 after he was arrested on the basis of a warrant issued by Chief Judicial Magistrate Satyabhama Dubey.

The Central Bureau of Investigation, which probed into the murder, had filed charge sheet against 31 persons, including Mr Jogi's son Amit charging him with murder and criminal conspiracy.

However, the trial court acquitted Amit Jogi but convicted 28 others on May 31.
