Consumer court awards compensation in ropeway mishap case

Vadodara, June 19 (UNI) A consumer court here today awarded a compensation of Rs 3.54 lakh to a family which was injured during a ropeway mishap at Pavagadh on January 19, 2003.

Anilbhai C Tonk, his wife Parulben and daughter Disa were injured when the ropeway broke. They claimed compensation from Usha Breco, the company that had built and operated the ropeway.

However Usha Breco refused to pay any damages to Anilbhai. He therefore approached the consumer court and judge S B Shah today directed the company to pay the compensation.
