Coalition government showing partisan attitude: Congress
Bangalore, June 19 (UNI) Congress party in Karnataka today charged the JD(S)-BJP coalition government of adopting partisan attitude in taking up developmental works ignoring the needs of the most backward regions.
Talking to newspersons here, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjuna Kharge alleged that recently the state government had ignored the recommendations of the Nanjundappa Committee Report on Regional Imbalance while allotting over 480 educational institutions, including High Schools, PUCs and Degree Colleges.
''The state government, while sanctioning new educational Institutions, gave scant respect to guidelines and norms and adopted partisan attitude which had ruffled the feelings of the people of the backward region'', he alleged.
Mr Kharge said that the matter was brought to the notice of the concerned Minister Basavaraj Horatti and secured his promise to set right the anomaly in the sanctioning of educational Institutions.
''The party will resort to agitation if the promise was not met'' he added.
