Two held for beating man to death in Nadiad
Anand, June 18 (UNI) Two persons were today arrested by the Nadiad police for allegedly beating a man to death at village Santana in Kheda district.
Nadiad police said Ashfaq Razak Memon and Salim Ahmedkhan Pathan were arrested for brutally beating Raju Kanu Rathod, a resident of Sagar Park (C-12) here, to death last saturday.
Police said Raju had told Ashfaq that his sister Parin, a physiotherapist, was allegedly having an affair with a person and was to run away soon with her paramour. An incensed Ashfaq wanted to know further details of the concerned person. On saturday, he and his friend Salim took Raju to Santana village in Kheda district, where they tortured him till he fell unconscious. One Samir Khan of the village admitted Raju to a local hospital. He was later shifted in a serious condition to a hospital in Ahmedabad, where he died yesterday.
PSI P S Sawani and his men arrested the duo and have registered a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
