Tata Motors launches 'Magic'and 'Winger'

New Delhi, June 18: Aimed at creating new segments in urban and rural passenger transportation, Tata Motors today launched -- 'Magic' and 'Winger' priced at Rs 2.60 lakh and Rs 4.70 lakh respectively.

Both 'Magic' and 'Winger' will be launched nationwide, starting with Maharashtra and Gujarat and will be extended to other parts of the country.

The two vehicles are expected to create new segments and help cover customer needs in mass transportation and luxury mass transportation segment.

''Tata Motors has always been at the forefront with its commitment to offer transportation solutions which will change the way India travels. The 'Magic' and 'Winger' are our latest initiatives in that direction and more will follow,'' company Commercial Vehicle Business Unit Executive Director P M Telang said.

With an all-steel cabin, 'Magic' has flexible seating capacity of four to seven passengers, with spacious interiors and ample legroom. Powered by a 16 HP 700cc water-cooled diesel engine, it comes with 12-inch tyres providing higher ground clearance and rigid front axle for tough road conditions.

'Magic' has a turning radius of 4.3 metres and meets BS-III emission norms, backed by a 36,000 km/12-month warranty.

'Winger', India's only maxi-van, can accomodate nine to 13 passengers, with a two-litre turbo charged diesel engine. It has 11 variants, in three levels of comfort, standard, deluxe and luxury, meeting BS-III emission norms and is backed with a 1.5 lakh km/18-month warranty.
