Mumbai, June 18 (UNI) Intensifying the value-added services war, private telecom major Tata Indicom today launched mobile internet radio, 'Cell Radio Links', which will be available on the company's mobile network.

The radio mobile internet service is a package of entertainment, news and music channels and will be available on few selected handsets at a subscription rate of Rs 50 per month.

The BREW application, acquired from the US-based Locate IT Indo Inc, offers a bouquet of 41 international and local radio stations.

After announcing the new initiative, Tata Indicom president (value added service) Pankaj Sethi said ''We believe that with this new service, our suscribers will be able to enjoy international music and listen to anything on the move.'' Moreover, with the exsisting CDMA technology on our network, a suscriber has to just go the options to avail the service unlike GSM handsets where one has to have a GPRS connection, he added.

It is pertinent to mention here that all the CDMA operators are eyeing the music segment of the value added service, which can significantly increase their revenue share per subscriber.

Reliance Communications, another player in the segment, just a fortnight ago had launched two FM-enabled handsets targetted towards this segment.
