Speaker adjourns verdict on disqualification of TRS rebel MLAs
Hyderabad, June 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy today adjourned till July seven his decision on the Telangana Rastra Samithi's(TRS) complaint, seeking disqualification of nine TRS MLAs, who had voted against party candidates in polls to state Council.
After a meeting with the TRS delegation, led by Floor leader Vijayarama Rao, and the TRS rebel MLAs, the Speaker put off his decision till July seven.
The Speaker also instructed the TRS and the rebel MLAs to submit written explanations to him before July seven.
Speaking to newspersons after the meeting, TRS Floor leader Vijayarama Rao said the party apprised him about the 'anti-party' activities of the TRS rebel MLAs, who voted in favour of Mahajana party president K Gnaneshwar in the MLC elections. The party sought the Speaker to immediately disqualify the nine TRS MLAs, he added.
Dissident TRS MLA D Srinivasa Rao said, ''we told our version to the Speaker. The nine MLAs did not do any mistake. So we should not be disqualified.'' Four TRS 'rebel' MLAs -- S Santosh Reddy, Sararani, Narayanarao Patel and S Bapu Rao -- did not attend the meeting. The remaining five MLAs, including Mukund Reddy, M Satyanarayana Reddy, T Jayaprakash Reddy and K Lingaiah were present in the meeting.
