Six injured in group clash in Karnataka

Bidar, Jun 18 (UNI) Six persons were injured, two of them critically, when two groups clashed using deadly weapons over possession of a piece of land at Okarana village in Aurad taluq of this district today.

Police said that there was a long standing dispute over the piece of land between two brothers Mallappa and Dalappa. The duo along with their supporters went to the disputed land this morning. Even as trouble broke out Dalappa fired in the air with his licensed gun.

Enrated with his act, the other group attacked and the two groups fought apitched battle with sharp edged weapons and iron rods.

The two seriously injured persons, identified a Dasappa(65) and Suryakanth(26), were rushed to the Bidar government hospital. Their condition was stated to be critical. The other fours were treated as outpatients.

DSP Ashok Anvoker rushed to the scene, arrested Mallappa and his friend Jayashankar and recovered two firearms, with the other being an air rifle, along with some ammunition.
