Sikhs observe 401st martyrdom day of fifth Sikh Guru in AP

Hyderabad, June 18 (UNI) The 401st martyrdom of fifth Sikh guru Guru Arjun Dev, who sacrificed his life for the faith and at the altar of Dharma, was observed by Sikhs and people of other communities all over Andhra Pradesh today.

Over 15,000 Sikh devotees and those from other communities participated in the Vishal Deewan (mass congregation) organised by Prabandhak Committee Gurudwara Saheb Sikh Chawni in the city.

The congregation was marked by recitation of holy Gurbani Keertans and kathas (holy hymns) by renowned religious preachers, specially invited from various parts of the country.

After the congregation, the traditional langar (free community kitchen) was served to all the devotees, a release here said.
