'Samadhan scheme' to be in force till July 23

Chennai, June 18 (UNI) The 'Samadhan scheme' announced by the Tamil Nadu government, in connection with registration of land documents, will be in force till July 23.

An official release here said the scheme, which was already in operation for a period of three months from April 24, would be in force till July 23.

''The beneficiaries can avail of this golden opportunity. This is the first time that the documents pending under sections of the Indian Stamp Act are included under the scheme,'' the release said.

The government had announced the scheme to realise immediately the blocked revenue from about 27,000 registered land documents pending determination of correct market value for a long time and to enable the parties to avail the stamp duty concession and get back the registered documents after payment of concessional stamp duty.
