Rural bank manager murdered, Rs 50,000 robbed

Lucknow, June 18 (UNI) Unidentified assailants shot dead a rural bank manager and decamped with Rs 50,000 in Ballia district this afternoon.

Nandlal Maurya -- manager of a rural bank branch in Murli Chapra -- was returning after withrawing Rs 50,000 from the bank, when he was shot at in Bairiya area.

The accused absconded after snatching the bag containing the cash, police said.

The Critically wounded Manager succumbed on way to hospital.

A hunt for the assailants was on.
