Rivers in spate and recurrent landslides in Manipur

Imphal, June 18 (UNI) Water in all rivers in Manipur valley were flowing above the danger level, following incessant rainfall during the past week.

Met officials here today said that the Thoubal, Imphal, Nambul, Iril rivers were at risk of overflowing and precautionary measures were being taken to control possible flood.

Although the sky remained moreorless cloudy, no rainfall was recorded.

Large number of agricultural lands were submerged under water in Manipur valley.

Landslides on Imphal-Tamenglong road disrupted vehicular traffic on National Highway 53 The minimum temperature here was recorded at about 22 degrees Celsius, while the maximum was about 26 degrees Celsius.

The relative humidity level was about 97 per cent.
