No need for change of leadership in Rajasthan: BJP

Jaipur, June 20 (UNI) Denying any need for a leadership change in Rajasthan, BJP state president Mahesh Sharma today endorsed the performance of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and said the state government was working perfectly.

After the BJP advisory committee meeting, Dr Sharma told newspersons that there was no need to change the Chief Minister as ''the state government was working very well''.

Applauding the state government's handling of the Gujjar agitation, he said it acted ''wisely''. He also denied any rift among the party leaders, saying there was no difference of opinion.

He, however, said caste politics ''which had come more to the fore with the Gujjar agitation is unfortunate''.

Reacting to state Food and Supply Minister Dr Kirori Lal Meena's threat of resignation if the Gujjars were given ST status, Dr Sharma said they would talk to the minister.
