New Delhi, June 18 (UNI) An NHRC team will visit Gurgaon's Pataudi town, where semi-charred foetuses were recovered from a well near a nursing home, to conduct an on-the-spot inquiry.

The team will submit a report within two weeks, a Commission spokesperson said.

Taking suo-motu cognizance of a June 15 newspaper report, the NHRC asked Haryana Chief Secretary and DGP to submit a report regarding the case within four weeks.

According to the newspaper report, Haryana Health Department officials had raided the maternity and nursing home owned and run by A K Singh, a quack, and recovered a large quantity of foetal remains from the well.

The report said Singh was convicted for running a medical practice on a bogus MBBS degree.

It highlighted that the clinic was involved in sex determination tests and female foeticide for many years. The raiding party has also seized portable ultrasound machine and equipment used for termination of pregnancy.
