Naidu calls on Rajni
Chennai, Jun 18 (UNI) TDP Supremo and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today called on Tamil Superstar Rajnikanth at his Poes Garden residence.
They were closetted for more than an hour, sources said, describing the meet as a courtesy call.
Mr Naidu, who was here in connection with the conclave of the new eight-party United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) at AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa's residence, chose to have a meeting with the actor, who also resides in the same area.
What transpired at the meeting was not known, though sources said the two had a discussion on Rajni's latest film ''Sivaji : the Boss'', a special screening of which was seen by Mr Naidu at Hyderabad recently.
It may be recalled that Mr Naidu, talking to reporters after seeing the film, had invited Mr Rajnikanth to join the Front. This might have also been part of the discussions, informed sources said.
When Mr Naidu emerged out of Mr Rajnikanth's residence, a few photographers expressed their resentment about the security people not allowing to take photographs of the meeting.
Mr Naidu, who heard them patiently for about five to ten minutes, said ''he would have arranged it''.
''If I had known that you (photographers) are waiting, I could have arranged for a photo shoot'', he said, before leaving.
