Mobile clinics in MP tribal districts

Bhopal, June 18: After successful operation in 11 tribal blocks, mobile health clinics will be started in 52 new blocks in 10 preddminantly tribal districts in Madhya Pradesh from August 15, Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi said.

Monitoring of these mobile health clinics would be done from the state capital through global positioning system, Mr Vishnoi said.

The mobile clinics, having facilities for medicine distribution, vaccination and examination before and after delivery, have been launched in 11 tribal blocks on an experimental basis last year with an objective to provide better health care facilities at the door step of people residing in remote areas.

Information regarding various health related schemes and family planning methods would be given through the clinics. On an average, 75 patients were treated daily in each mobile clinic, which would also render its services during natural calamities and fairs.

The districts covered by the mobile clinics include Khargone, Badwani, Jhabua, Dhar, Ratlam, Betul, Mandla, Dindori, Anuppur and Seoni.
