Maximum temperatures rise in HP

Shimla, Jun 18 (UNI) Maximum temperatures rose by two to three degrees in mid and lower hills of Himachal Pradesh following bright and a sunny day today.

The met office said maximum at Shimla rose to 23.6 degree Celsius as compared to 21.3 degrees registered yesterday, while the minimum rose by a few notches to 14.9 degree Celsius.

The maximum at Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Kalpa also rose to 31.1, 32.8, and 22.3 degree Celsius as against 28.1 degree at Sundernagar, 29.4 at Bhuntar and 20.1 degree at Kalpa in Kinnuar district, it said.

The met office said the day temperature at Dharamshala rose to 27.8 degrees, while Una recorded a high of 35.2 degrees, while the minimum at Una town recorded a marginal increase to 21.3 in comparison 20.8 degrees recorded yesterday.

The minimum temperature at Sundernagar rose to 18.5 degrees and 15.2 degrees at Bhuntar, while remaining at seven degree Celsius, it said.

Overcast conditions were, however, prevailing in Lahaul Spiti and Kullu districts of the state, while the sky remained clear in Kinnuar district.

The met office has predicted rain or thundershowers at a few places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
